Nursery (infant to age 4)
A nursery is available for children infant – age 4 at any time during the worship service on Sundays in the Mother’s Room, to the left as you exit the worship area.
J.A.M. (ages 5-8)
Children ages 5-8 are invited to join us for J.A.M., our age appropriate worship/learning experience for children, just after the Children's message this Sunday! Interested in helping with J.A.M.? Contact David White at 650-3166.
Just for Tweens (ages 9-12)
Kids ages 9—12 are invited to be a part of Tweens, a group specially designed for them. Join them this Sunday during the LifeLesson portion of worship for this fun learning experience. Want to know more? Call Becky Peterson at 945-7952.
Grace Prayer Team
Know the miraculous power of prayer. Word of Life has a team of prayer warriors ready to pray for you. The team meets on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. [map and directions] to pray for the morning worship and other needs. Also, prayer partners will be available to pray with you or for you after worship. Just come to the right side of the worship area.
If you would like the team to pray for you throughout the week, just let Pastor Ken know (566-2237 or Ken@WordofLife4u.com), and he will share your request with the team.

Thank You for Your Prayers
As many of you have already heard, Patti and I had a bit more of an adventure than was originally planned on our recent trip to Colorado. The LifeServe Conference was uplifting and our participation as Affinity Group Leaders was rewarding. Then, there was the issue of my appendix. An emergency appendectomy was not on the original itinerary; however, God guided and directed all the events of this trip. We are thankful for your prayers and support. Order live greenery for the holidays for you or your family. The youth are taking orders for a variety of wreaths, sprays and centerpieces. Great prices for delivery to your home or direct shipment to family across the country.

Camping PostponedDue to the death of Mark Stemmermann’s father, the fall youth-sponsored camping trip has been cancelled. Be watching for other opportunities in the future and continue to pray for Mr. Stemmermman and his family.
One Day Women’s Retreat Postponed
Due to a number of different circumstances, the one day women’s retreat planned for Saturday, October 17 has been postponed. Be watching for details about a new day for this exciting retreat.
Heaven’s Whisper
Want to help bring joy to someone who is alone or hurting? Several Word of Life women have formed a caring choir called, “Heaven’s Whisper.” They plan to go monthly to area nursing homes or care centers to sing to individual residents. Their first event will be on Sunday, October 18 at 3:00 p.m. Meet them at Autumn Winds Nursing Home (3301 FM 3009). If you love music and care about people, this group is for you. Questions? Disaster Relief
People are suffering in the wake of four recent disasters in Asia, including the 7.6-magnitude earthquake that hit Indonesia September 30, originating off Sumatra and killing more than 700, with the death toll expected to rise. That tragedy is the latest in a string of disasters, including a tsunami in Samoa, flooding in the Philippines, and a typhoon in Taiwan. “LCMS World Relief and Human Care is actively engaged in assessing needs and providing assistance by working directly with our partner churches, LCMS World Mission, and the Pacific Southwest and California-Nevada-Hawaii districts,” said Rev. Glenn F. Merritt, director of Disaster Response. Your tax deductible contributions can assist families in need in these areas. Make your check payable to Word of Life and write LCMS World Relief in the memo line or use one of the Disaster Relief envelopes available at worship this Sunday.
Loved Ones Who've Died in the Past Year
On Sunday, November 1, All Saints' Day, we'll remember and honor Christian family members and close friends of attenders of Word of Life Fellowship who've died in the past 12 months (Revelation 14:13). Holiday Meals and Gifts
For the past several years, Word of Life has worked with SCUCISD to sponsor area families at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are once again sponsoring five families for the holidays. In the past, we have provided food baskets, HEB gift cards, Walmart gift cards and various gift items. We need your help to help others this holiday season. Death Benefit Funny
Every Saturday morning Grandpa found himself babysitting his three grandchildren... all boys! They always wanted to play "war," and Grandpa somehow always got coaxed into the game. His daughter came to pick up the kids early one Saturday and witnessed Grandpa take a bullet as one of the boys pointed a toy gun and yelled, "Bang!" Grandpa slumped to the floor and stayed there motionless. The daughter rushed over to see if he was all right. Grandpa opened one eye and whispered, "Sh-h-h, I always do this. It's the only chance I get to rest."
