We're building a bigger heaven and better lives!

An Unhurried Life

Hurry is the great enemy of spiritual life in our day, but we can ruthlessly eliminate hurry from our lives. God offers to heal hurry sickness this Sunday, March 7 at 10:45 a.m. 101 Pecan Drive, in Schertz [map and directions].

A nursery is available for children infant – age 4 at any time during the worship service on Sundays in the Mother’s Room, to the left as you exit the worship area. Grace Prayer Team

Know the miraculous power of prayer. Word of Life has a team of prayer warriors ready to pray for you. The team meets on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. [map and directions] to pray for the morning worship and other needs. Also, prayer partners will be available to pray with you or for you after worship. Just come to the right side of the worship area.

If you would like the team to pray for you throughout the week, just let Pastor Ken know (566-2237 or Ken@WordofLife4u.com), and he will share your request with the team.

The team is compiling a quarterly newsletter and they would like to add your story of answered prayer. Please share YOUR story and/or become a part of this exciting prayer team. Contact Betty Tolsma 659-8107 or bettytolsma@sbcglobal.net.

30 Hour Famine

Every 7 seconds a child dies because of hunger and related causes. But here’s the good news—our students are doing something about it! On March 13 & 14 our youth group will participate in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine. We’re fasting for 30 hours to get a taste of hunger—and to raise money to help feed and care for hungry kids and their families around the world. We need your help! We’d like the whole church to be involved in our Famine. Here are some ways you can be part of the action:

  • Pray. Ask God to bless our students as they go without food so others can eat.

  • Participate. We need volunteers to help with our Famine weekend event!

  • Give. Support our students’ fundraising efforts—every $30 they raise can help feed and care for one child for a month!

Questions? Call Mark Stemmermann, 566-1401.

Spring Ahead!

Don’t forget to set your clocks AHEAD one hour before you go to bed next Saturday night. Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 14.

Resurrection Celebration Donations Needed

Starting next Sunday, March 7, there will be a box in the lobby for donations of plastic eggs and individually wrapped candy for this year’s egg hunt. We will collect these donations through Sunday, March 28.

Experience the Passion

On Good Friday, April 2, join us at 7:00 p.m. for a journey through seven hands-on prayer stations. This moving experience will touch you with the power of the Passion like never before. Be praying now about who you will invite to share this moving experience with you. Also, please see the RSVP form this Sunday for information about ways to help with this event.

Prayer Posture Fun

"The proper way for man to pray," said Deacon Lemuel Keyes;
"The only proper attitude is down upon his knees."

"Nay, I should say the way to pray," said Reverend Doctor Wise,
"Is standing straight with outstretched arms with rapt and upturned eyes."

"Oh, no, no, no," said Elder Snow, "such posture is too proud.
A man should pray with eyes fast-closed and head contritely bowed."

"It seems to me his hands should be austerely clasped in front.
With both thumbs pointing to the ground," said Reverend Doctor Blunt.

"Last year I fell in Hodgkin's well headfirst," said Cyril Brown,
"With both my heels a-stickin' up, my head a-pointing' down,
And I done prayed right then and there; best prayer I ever said,
The prayin'est prayer I ever prayed, a-standin' on my head."

Just a Thought

“I generally pray two hours every day, except on very busy days. On those days, I pray three.” - Martin Luther
