What's Most
Important to Us

Top Five Values:

Missional Motives are the values we’re not willing to sacrifice in accomplishing our mission. They define what matters to us, how we’re different. We’ll make decisions, invest resources, take risks, solve problems, determine priorities, set goals and act in line with these values:

1. Selfless Love
Strong relationships and acts of selfless service permeate everything we do, wherever we go.

John 13:34-35 - [Jesus said,] “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (ESV)

Matthew 22:37-39 - Jesus answered him, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ All of Moses’ Teachings and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.’” (GW)

2. Courageous Adventure
We are bold, trusting God to lead us as we try new ways and structures to accomplish God's mission.

Joshua 1:9 - “I have commanded you, ‘Be strong and courageous! Don't tremble or be terrified, because the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.’” (GW)

1 Corinthians 9:19-23 - Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn’t take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it! (Msg Paraphrase)

3. Transforming Mission
We’re all about going out to our community and world to share the love and message of Christ with people who are not pursuing Christ and His church.

John 20:21 - Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (NIV)

Acts 1:8 - [Jesus said,] “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes to you. Then you will be my witnesses to testify about me in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (GW)

4. Powerful Prayer
We pray because God listens to our prayers and graciously changes circumstances or changes us.

Matthew 7:7-8 - [Jesus said,] “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” (GW)

John 15:7-8 - [Jesus said,] “If you live in me and what I say lives in you, then ask for anything you want, and it will be yours. You give glory to my Father when you produce a lot of fruit and therefore show that you are my disciples.” (GW)

5. Developing People
We help people become all God wants them to be, multiplying teachers and ministries.

1 Timothy 2:2 - You've heard my message, and it's been confirmed by many witnesses. Entrust this message to faithful individuals who will be competent to teach others. (GW)

Acts 6:2-4 - The twelve apostles called all the disciples together and told them, “It's not right for us to give up God's word in order to distribute food. So, brothers and sisters, choose seven men whom the people know are spiritually wise. We will put them in charge of this problem. However, we will devote ourselves to praying and to serving in ways that are related to the word.” (GW)
