Be Confident
Earthly wealth is useful—it helps us buy things and pay our bills. But it comes with hidden traps. Our desire for temporary earthly riches can overtake our desire for our heavenly Father and the eternal gifts He abundantly gives. So, where will you place your confidence: in temporary riches or in the everlasting treasures of God?
[Jesus said,] “Therefore, if you can’t be trusted with wealth that is often used dishonestly, who will trust you with wealth that is real? If you can’t be trusted with someone else’s wealth, who will give you your own? A servant cannot serve two masters. He will hate the first master and love the second, or he will be devoted to the first and despise the second. You cannot serve God and wealth.” Luke 16:11-13 (GW)

Together is Better
The Bible says, “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning” (Ps 30:5). Tragedy strikes when we least expect it. Some slip while suffering. Others triumph over tragedy. They become better, not bitter; they live triumphant, not troubled lives. The toughest of times are best met when we stick together with God and his people.
