Wisdom Grows in Hidden Places

Christmas is over, the noise has faded, and January is staring back at us with a quiet, unsettling question: now what?

Our culture rushes answers, but the Church hands us a surprising image – a twelve-year-old Jesus, not performing miracles, but sitting, listening, and asking questions. Wisdom, Scripture insists, is not downloaded overnight; it grows slowly, even in the life of the Son of God.

Solomon asks not for success, but for a listening heart – and God delights in that kind of prayer. Luke reminds us that growth often happens in Nazareth, not on the big stage, and that obscurity is not the same as absence.

Paul pushes the point even further: you were chosen in Christ before anything you achieved.

If you’re living with questions right now, this sermon is a word of grace – you already belong, and now you get to grow.
